Little Creatures Brewery, Geelong, January 7, 2015

Wednesday evening we tried out the Little Creatures Brewery here in Geelong. Barry had already been to this place when he was here in Australia in September 2014. It ranks high as a place to take the kids for dinner. I know, weird....since it's a brewery! It was a rainy evening and we knew they had an outdoor space for kids, but once we arrived we knew we'd be better off inside (it did start pouring rain not long after we sat inside). It was great. The inside seating still feels like outside. It's built in an old carpet factory, so very unique feel. There were lots of great seats and umbrellas outside and a giant sandbox for kids, so we'll have to go back when the weather is better.

Good eats, Little Creatures

Barry and I always share when we are traveling so that we can try out many items on the menu. The grilled corn with chipotle butter sure reminded me of Taco Lucha in Manhattan, KS. Oh, how we will miss that place for the next six months!

We've spent a fair bit of time finding parks to stretch our legs in between schoolwork and Frozen (that's what Lydia likes to do with her spare time-whether it's watching the movie or pretending to be Elsa). The sea air has brought out all the curls in Miss Lydia's hair. It's pretty wild and nothing tames it! So cute!

Rippleside Park, January 7, 2015

Last night (Thursday) it was pretty rainy, but good enough to go exploring around the city again. We stopped in a toy store to pick up a few new things to keep us busy. Then we went to Eastern Beach in Geelong. There is a great playground! I captured a few pictures of the city while there. There's a children's pool, beach and playground all right there, so when the weather is warmer we'll be heading back. There were a few brave souls swimming in the pool with their kids, but I noticed they all had wetsuits on.

We are looking forward to the weekend as Barry will be with us more! We'll blog after our weekend and tell you what we discovered. I've also asked Barry to blog soon explaining what he is up to on his sabbatical, just in case you are wondering. Plus, I'm sure this blog will get quite boring if I do all the writing. We will be moving into a new place on Sunday and will be there for a little over a week. Then on Tuesday, Jan. 20th we finally move into our permanent home through July.
