Easter weekend

Happy Easter!
On Friday, April 3rd we participated in the Way of the Cross walk in Geelong. This was an event arranged by the Christian churches in Geelong. Barry and I estimate that there were about 750 people in attendance. Very cool and such a neat experience for the kids!

On Saturday, we went to Mr. Grubb cafe at Oakdene Estates for lunch. It's a beautiful setting under the trees. Saturday night we attended the candlelit Easter Vigil Mass at St. Mary of the Angels Basilica in Geelong. The kids were all so well behaved! On the way home we were able to view the lunar eclipse.

There's that cheeky grin again!
This pigeon landed in our backyard. We think it was a racing pigeon that was lost.
Happy Easter! We had to change our clocks back and that meant Lydia woke us up at 5:30 the following morning. Loved that on Easter morning! The kids were excited that the Easter bunny had stopped by and had a nice little egg hunt here at home. Barry made ham, egg and cheese toasties for breakfast and I packed a lunch for us. We opted to do an Easter event since we are so far from home and not able to be with family this Easter. We went to the Easter Egg Hunt at Bellarine Estate Winery. This was a fundraiser event for Our Women Our Children, and all funds were being raised to build a outdoor therapy play space for children. There were lots of carnival rides, live music, and egg hunts for all different age groups. It was overcast and a bit chilly, but the rain held out until we were driving home.

The kids enjoyed several cartoons in the afternoon. The PBS equivalent, ABC Kids, is so awesome here. There are many great cartoons and they play all day long here. Perfect for when you need a little break (aka, glass of wine). Since we don’t have cable at home, or the ability to get PBS to come in most of the time, we talk about how much we will miss this network when we leave.

We made a lamb roast, mashed potatoes and green beans for Easter dinner. Yummy!

On Monday, April 6th we went to the Marine and Freshwater Discovery Centre located just outside of Queenscliff. They have a great little center with tanks full of freshwater and marine life. They also have a really great rockpool with many things to touch and learn about. We loved our time here and learned about so many things in the waters around this area.
