Great Ocean Road, Hesket Estate and Hanging Rock with Bradford crew

Yes, we did it again....we traveled the Great Ocean Road. I just love this drive and the stops along the way!

The forecast for Saturday was rain, so we had planned to do indoor activities, however, when we woke up Saturday the forecast had changed! So, we drove the Great Ocean Road to show the Bradford crew the views and good stops. Our first stop was Bells Beach. There were more surfers than we had ever seen on the water that day. Very cool to watch them in the huge waves! It was quite chilly and overcast with a few sprinkles.

By the time we stopped in Lorne for lunch it was a gorgeous day! Sunny and even people on the beach (and in the water). Brrr!!

After lunch, we headed to Kennett River. When we first arrived it was very quiet and there weren't many birds around. We were afraid there wasn't going to be much to see, but we walked up the road a bit and found people that had birdseed. There were a few king parrots at that spot and when we came back down the hill there was a man with another bag of seed and lots of birds. We have so much fun watching the birds land and chatter. The green king parrots in the pictures below are the most aggressive and tend to chase the blue/red crimson rosellas away if they land on a person's arm. The king parrots were also nipping at Kiernan's fingers and face. Apparently they are bullies! We all had a great time experiencing the birds and saw some koalas sleeping, as well as one close up.

Sunday, April 19th was a rainy day and quite cold. The kids and I stayed behind in Ocean Grove (and went to a movie in Geelong) while Barry and his family went to a small winery called Hesket Estate as guests at a regional Angus association meeting that they'd been invited to. They got to enjoy some excellent food and wine and enjoyed meeting with some people with very common interests!  After the gathering, a friend took them to a state park nearby that is famous for its unusual rock formations.

Waiting for HOME to start
Luckily "Hanging Rock" continued to hang up there as this picture was taken.
Doesn't get much more stylish than having a Lamborghini to drive through the vineyard.
I don't think this one will be beating anyone off the line, though.
